Article Wedding Photography Make the Groom Stand Out from the Groom’s Men

The groom will be the one to marry the bride-to-be no matter how identical his attire looks to that of the groom’s men, but it’s important for the guests to be able to identify the special one from the rest. Traditionally, the groom and the groom’s men should wear similar looking outfits and it’s a little hard for one to think of ways to set the groom apart from all the good looking guys. So here are some simple ways to make the special guy stand out on his special day.

Unique boutonniere

One of the easiest ways to differentiate the groom is by using a unique boutonniere on the groom’s jacket. Try a different colour, one that goes well with the bride’s sari or the dress or a different bloom which compliments boutonnieres worn by the groom’s men. You may also try to make the groom’s boutonniere look fancier with various fancy accents. Try wearing multiple blossoms on the groom’s jacket (groom’s men will have only a single flower) or make the groom’s men wear flower buds while the groom wears a fully blossomed flower of the same type.

Differentiate the Tie

Wear a tie that is different from that of the groom’s men. Try to change the color of the tie to match the bride’s attire while groom’s men wear ties that go with the bride’s maid’s attire. If the groom wants to make himself look extra unique he may even go for a totally different look with different neckwear such as a bow tie.

Wear a Vest

Change the colours of the vest if the groom’s party is to wear them. It is also possible to change colours of both the tie and the vest to get a better differentiating effect. Again, if the groom wants to really stand out wear a cummerbund and put the groom’s men in vests.

Alternative jacket style

Make the groom stand out by wearing a completely different jacket style from the rest. For example if the groom selects a double-breasted jacket, put his men in a single-breasted one or if the groom wears a longer length coat let the groom’s men dress in coordinating tuxedos. Changing the jacket style or simply its colour could easily differentiate the groom from the rest of his attendants. Note that if the wedding is towards the traditional side changing the jacket style may not be such a good idea.
