What are these so called wedding favours?

Wedding favors are small gifts or sweets and chocolates that are presented to the guests as a gesture of appreciation during a wedding ceremony.

Even though this is not an item that usually takes place in a traditional Sri Lankan wedding, the western world considers this as an important part of the reception.

If the favors are sweets or chocolates, they are beautifully wrapped and are kept at the guest tables for the guests to enjoy. Some couples also arrange a separate table to keep the favors, from which guests serve themselves.

The trend these days is to mix favors with flowers and use them as table centerpieces as a unique decoration method. Gift items such as small ornaments are also in the fashion today as they could be easily personalized with the couple’s name and the wedding date.
